You can keep using your paper menus alongside Mint, if you wish. You need to enter each dish into Mint so it can be filtered by allergen. You only need to do this once — after that you can edit the menu, pricing and allergy information as required.

Because changes don’t go live until you confirm them on your restaurant dashboard. Customers always see your menu as it was at your last confirmation. This is deliberate: it means a half-finished edit can never reach someone with an allergy, and it improves customer safety by ensuring venues check the allergy information provided is correct. When you’re ready to confirm that is the case, press Confirm menu is up to date.

We have created a safety buffer to reduce the likelihood of mistakes getting through to the customer-facing menu by requiring venues to confirm their menu is up to date on the restaurant dashboard before the customer sees your latest changes. But if you do notice a mistake after pressing the Confirm menu is up to date button, then you should immediately rectify the mistake on your restaurant dashboard menu, then press the Confirm menu is up to datebutton so the corrected menu is shown to customers. You should also inform any customers about the mistake, and Mint is never a substitute for your staff checking customers’ allergy information verbally.

No — mark it as unavailable on your restaurant dashboard. It disappears from customer menus but stays in your dashboard so you can easily bring it back.

As safety is our top priority, customers are told a dish is safe only when you have actually confirmed that. Until then, we tell them the information was not provided and to check with venue staff.
